Groundbreaking aquafeed solution for an unexploited resource.

Partnering with MESO gives you access to a unique solution for transforming mesopelagic fish into premium marine feed ingredients for the aquaculture sector.

Together with MESO, you and your community have an opportunity to build a new industry, onshore and offshore, in a way that is not in conflict with other fishing interests.

The expansion of fish farming is driven by the world’s growing population. Since wild fish resources are limited, the increasing need for fish as a healthy and affordable source of protein, can only be filled by aquaculture.

But there’s a challenge: The aquafeed industry is running out of high-quality marine feed. The demand exceeds the supply.

That’s where the MESO Method™ comes in - offering to replace the use of fish suitable for human consumption with mesopelagic species in marine feed production.

  • Market driver: Global feed demand

Seafood plays a vital role in feeding the rapidly growing global population, providing a healthy, affordable source of protein to people everywhere.

  • Why marine aquafeed

There is not enough marine feed to meet the need for an increasing aquaculture production – the demand exceeds the supply.

Learn how The MESO Method™ has the potential to open a completely new, sustainable industry onshore and at sea.

  • Benefits for local communities

We can create jobs and income in countries and communities that may struggle with poverty and unemployment.

  • Made in Norway

Our background from the Norwegian fishing industry, is a guarantee for a healthy, safe and sustainable approach in every stage of the value chain.

Our way of exploiting mesopelagic fish has tangible ESG impacts for all partners in the value chain. And what’s good for the fish, is good for humans.

MESO offers an effective
infrastructure and logistic line from research and harvesting
to processing and export.

  • Research

Mapping: The research vessel, MS Mokstein, will map and assess mesopelagic fish resources in an area.

Evaluate: The data produced shall confirm the potential of utilizing mesopelagic fish for commercial use within regulation limits.

  • Harvesting & preservation

Catch: A fleet of local fishing vessels will use the data from the research phase to locate and harvest mesopelagic fish.

Preservation: The unique MESO preservation process is carried out on-board immediately after harvesting the fish.
    .

  • Processing

Local facilities: We will create processing facilities in the countries we establish our operations.

Local competence: The processing facilities will be staffed with local forces trained by Meso.
    .

  • Exporting

Worldwide: High quality marine ingredients (FPC and Fish Oil) from the processing facilities will be exported to the aquafeed markets worldwide.

New industry: This will increase export revenues for the country and create a new industry with a long-term perspective.
